Who We Are
Craftsmanship, quality, and community spirit: Topa Topa Brewing Company combines craftsmanship with high quality ingredients to produce the finest in craft beer, served in an environment that fosters community. In all aspects of our business, we strive to be as environmentally responsible as possible.
Our Core Values
Quality:
This is the foundation of our brand. Everything we do must be done with quality. From grain to glass, we ensure a quality experience for our customer. No exceptions.
Craftsmanship:
At Topa Topa we educate our customers on the beers we make, highlighting the hard work of the growers, maltsters, and of course our team. The beer must be respected, not necessarily revered, but respected at every step of the process.
Community Spirit:
Through our tasting room(s) and distribution network, we foster community engagement every step of the way. Our tasting rooms are a space to gather as a community and organize events. We support charities and local businesses. We use our brand platform to educate, not only about beer, but also about issues important to us and our customers. Internally, we work hard, and we work together. The pieces of our team are interchangeable, and we work everyday to ensure that the responsibilities for that day are taken care of, and that we set our fellow team members up for success the following day.
Responsibility:
We have many responsibilities as a business:
To create a high quality product for our customers. We are asking them to pay more for a product that is readily available for less money, it is our responsibility to provide value for that choice.
We have a responsibility as a company to care and provide for our employees, as you would care for a family member.
As employees and owners, we have a responsibility to help one another to complete the duties of the day. Teamwork and communication are keys to achieving our collective goals.
We have a responsibility to do as little harm to the environment as possible and to preserve our resources as we operate and grow as a business.
We have a responsibility to give back to our community that supports our business.
Sustainability Measures
Know that when you drink our beer you're giving back to our local environment!
We are a 1% for the Planet member and, as such, we donate a percentage of our sales annually to local 1% for the Planet approved environmental non-profits.
What is 1% for the Planet?
1% for the Planet (1% FTP) is a global organization that connects dollars and doers to address the most pressing issues facing our planet. Started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, 1% FTP members have given more than $150 million to environmental nonprofits to date. The founders - successful entrepreneurs who grew thriving businesses - understood that they were not alone in being committed to protecting the environment and giving back to our global community.
Today, 1% FTP is a network of more than 1,200 member businesses, numerous individuals, and thousands of nonprofit partners in more than 40 countries. Their headquarters are located in Burlington, VT. They also have a chapter office in France and strong representation in Japan, Australia, and western Europe.
How do we, Topa Topa Bring Co., give back?
We donate bi-annually to two local 1% FTP approved non-profits each year. We also host events at our taprooms throughout the year that support these, and other, 1% FTP non-profits.
These taproom events give us, and the non-profit, an opportunity to teach our community about environmental issues affecting our local wild lands. They have been very successful events that have brought many new faces to the taprooms and new members to the non-profits.
Our 2020 bi-annual partners:
January - June = Ventura Land Trust
July - December = TBD
Additional 1% non-profits we continuously donate to:
American Alpine Club
